Education & Experience

I have been working with languages for most of my adult life and translating professionally since 2008. I have spent time living in both France (Brittany & Paris) and Italy (Florence & Umbria).

I hold the Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. I am also a fully qualified member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting in both of my language combinations.
I graduated with a Joint Honours degree in French and Italian from Cambridge University (Robinson College) in 1999.
I am a member of the Translators Association and the Mediterranean Editors and Translators association.

Continuing Professional Development

I regularly contribute to publications within the translation and interpreting sector (such as the ITI Bulletin) and have spoken at a number of industry events on topics such as translating for the art world, sport translation and the translation of quotations. Continuing Professional Development is key to my work and I make time regularly to consolidate my translation skills and build on my specialist knowledge.

Since 2020 I have been working with the Stephen Spender Trust as part of its Creative Translation in the Classroom programme, delivering workshops to secondary school students to pass on my passion for languages to the next generation of translators.
